The Enlightened States Power Consortium was formed in early February of 2009 in response to the observed disinterest (failure?) of disparate entities to engage an initiative to advance a robust and expeditious solution across multiple boundaries in order to ensure that we, the USA, will have enough trained technicians with a range skills substantiated by credible certificates and degrees (associate, BA, Masters, and PhD) in order to implement our national ambition to supply a substantial portion of our energy needs from renewable sources, primarily wind and solar, within very few short years.
